WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE BOARD CERTIFIED?

A board certified orthodontist, also known as a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, has been voluntarily examined by his or her peers on their knowledge and clinical skills through the American Board of Orthodontics (ABO). Becoming board certified is completely optional and signifies the orthodontist's dedication to the pursuit of excellence in orthodontics. Only one in three orthodontists is board certified.
